Surrounded by the glistening sapphire waters of Central Pacific in Micronesia is the country island of Nauru. Identifiable by its charming oval-shape, Nauru boasts a narrow coastal belt lined with lush coconut palms; white-sand beaches and a lively coral reef; while its inland is home to dense tropical vegetation and agricultural plantations. A nature lovers’ paradise and an adventure seekers’ playground, attractions of Nauru include: Anibare Bay, a picturesque, sweeping, sand-coral beach in a volcanic-formed bay; and Buada Lagoon, a landlocked, freshwater endorheic lake surrounded by lush green vegetation. History enthusiasts’ can visit the acclaimed Command Ridge, that, perched at over 65 metres above sea level, displays the remains of items left behind by the Japenese after World War One.
